Do you have your 5 year old take naps?

My 5 year hasn’t napped in a few years. My SO says he needs to nap. That all 5 year olds do.. but even if I’ve tried to get him to nap he doesn’t stay laying down for long..

My son stopped napping very early on. He was sleeping 13 hrs at night so I couldn’t complain. My 10 month old only takes one nap during the day and I wish she took more.

My sons 4 and stopped napping at home last year. He naps at preschool 3 times a week though but he doesn’t have a choice.

My now 6 year old just stopped napping last year. That being said, she also was the kid who napped twice a day till she was 3! We kind of had to force her to stop napping because of starting school. They still took a rest time mid day and my kid was about the only one who still fell asleep lol 
It is totally not a necessity for a 5 year old to nap! If anything just move bedtime up.

Lord no. I couldn’t glue her down 😂
I wouldn’t encourage it as it will only make things harder for school. No one wants a child who needs to nap mid school day.
Usually around 3:30 we clean up toys, put on a show and have quiet time to either watch the show or play quietly while I prep dinner.

I can’t even get my 2 yr old to nap anymore. I’m trying to let her know that there is quiet time in the day. Only reading is done
