Adhesion scarring and pregnancy

Francesca

Hi ladies! I have a question. I had to have a c section with my first child, who is now four. My husband and I just found out we are pregnant again. Sometimes, if I’m laying a certain way, and I move, I feel like I’m pulling at my c section scar. This has gone on sporadically (and not enough to be debilitating) since I had the c section. I finally looked up the causes and I’m gathering I have something called adhesion scars, which are scars that have formed around the incision and caused organs to “stick” together. They look like spider webs almost, and are caused by intense operating around the abdomen. The only way to get rid of them is to operate and remove them, which will ironically cause more scarring. Now that I’m pregnant I was feeling those little muscle pulls more often than I used to. I wanted to know if any of you ladies have had this issue of scarring, and have had a healthy full term pregnancy? Thanks!
