Dark armpits?

I’ve been having dark armpits for as long as I can remember. I went to a dermatologist and he said I might be scrubbing or shaving too rough in the area but I always feel like I’m so careful! Does anyone else have this? Has anyone been successful to remove it?

Use lemon, and or start getting waxed

I know this sounds really weird, but put this in a bowl and mix it up:
Lemon juice 
Coconut oil
Baking soda 
Gently exfoliate your underarms with it. 
It contains good stuff like vitamin e (from the coconut oil), an exfoliant (baking soda) and an antiseptic, light natural bleaching agent (lemon). 
Don’t leave it on all day, since lemon is acidic. I do it in the shower during summer months. Also, vitamin e is a natural deodorant! 
Darkness is a result of dead skin cells, using alcohol based antiperspirant and deodorants, or like you said shaving too rough. Hope this helps!

My best friend stopped using deodorant for a while and used lime and baking soda. it helped her so much.  she use to have very dark underarms.

Girl yes. And my hair grows back and super dark peels of being Italian but I got a laser removal for my hair and for it to lighten my armpits because it always looked like I had hair and I just finished my last treatment a couple weeks ago and it looks so good and there’s no dark spots anywhere. It’s genetic it may not just be from scrubbing to hard or what not
