Foster book?

Question

So I was a foster child and for about a year so I have been really debating on whether not to write a book on my experiences. From what I know (please correct me if I’m wrong because I would love to know!) there is not a non fiction book from the point of view of a foster child, and there are thousands of children in the system who would benefit from hearing about someone else’s experiences and how they dealt with the Trumatic events that occurred in their life. I was thinking about doing a trilogy about life at home, foster care, and adoption. 
Would you guys read it? How much should I disclose in the books? What are some ideas that you think I should possibly incorporate? Should I do a YouTube channel discussing it, or maybe a blog to complement the books?

Go for it, I’m sure kids and even adults who have been through similar situations can benefit from something like that. You could even do a book series for younger kids going through it as well, something encouraging and age appropriate, of course. And then a young-adult/adult series detailing the more serious and relatable things you’ve dealt with. Best of luck 💕

Definitely!! Write it :) I'm waiting for Tiffany Haddish's book now. I think stories about different life is great for people to read and understand a bit. But also it would really benefit anyone who went through similar things to hear they aren't alone.

‘The Last Black Unicorn’
Tiffany Haddish wrote a biographical non fiction about her experience growing up in foster care (but mostly about later life stuff, relationships et al.) but I’m enjoying it, if you love to laugh it’s an engaging read!
‘To the End of June’
Cris Beam. This follows more of a national perspective of voicing many stories than an autobiographical one. But I haven’t started it yet, but it’s on my “recommended reading” list.
‘Three Little Words’
Ashley Rhodes-Couter, her memoirs of 10 years in foster care. Tears, but so good.
Anyway, yes there are hundreds of non fiction memoirs or biographies about experiences in foster care... if  anything that means you should write your story, use your voice, and get it out there to join the many others and share your experiences too.

I was thinking to do the same because my grandfather asked me one day years ago telling me "jelly one day I hope you write a book on your life leaving no details out so I can reread it over and over again and still be amazed of the strength you have even as a baby girl alone in the world" I still to this day hold that in my mind. I group in foster care after being abused excessively from my father and malnourished I essentially allowed to live in the house just outside... so much more to my life story but here I am a mother of 2 with a man that loves me 19 years old with so much determination
