Do I tell my mom if I’m not going to keep it?

I’m pregnant and we’re not ready for this life change 😞 I want to talk to my mom but I feel like it’s selfish for me to tell her if I’m not going to keep it, it will only make her sad. She considered an abortion when she got pregnant unexpectedly with my older brother. She is pro choice and a feminist, I know she would understand my decision but I wish I could talk to her.

Not selfish at all! My sister got prego & not ready for change, she chose adoption. To help her cope she wrote a letter to the son answering all questions why. We loved & respected her for giving that couple a child to raise as their own. Year 2017 son turned 16, & contacted my sister saying thank you for thinking of him and his future. They all now get together and have an open adoption. It felt good telling the adoptive parents thanks for their help. If you feel comfortable telling her then yes. I don't think it's selfish. My mom was there for me when I made the decision and even confided in me that she had one when she was super young. ((hugs))
