Doctor didn't tell me how many weeks I am. Is this normal?

I had a miscarriage last month and am so worried.. I have another ultrasound in 1.5 weeks.. All my doctor said is she is optimistic that this might be a viable pregnancy.. Anyone else gone through this?

Your too early to do a dating scan, when there is an embryo or a fetus they will do a dating scan.
