Paraovarian cyst

Elizabeth

On Saturday I had pretty bad pain in my left lower abdomen area. Sunday morning I woke up and had severe pain in the same area- could barely stand up or walk even a few steps.

After multiple hospital/doctor visits on Sunday and Monday, I’ve been told I have “multiple paraovarian cystic lesions” and to monitor the pain in the coming weeks with a possibility of a follow up transvaginal sonogram in 6 weeks. Dr said this may represent polycystic ovarian disease.

I’m wondering if anyone here has experience with this and their outcome?

Some info from the sonogram findings:

“Multiple nabothian cysts are appreciated about the cervix.”

“Right ovarian follicles are noted, and appears to be hypoechoic extra adnexal cystic structure as well.”

“Left ovarian follicles are identified, the largest of these appears exophytic and measures up to 19mm.”

“The ovaries are vascularized.”

I haven’t had an in-depth talk with my doctor yet- all of this was through my medical portal online. Does anyone have some insight into this in layman’s terms? Possibility/likeliness of needing surgical removal of the cysts? The pain is less severe today; however, still present and there is discomfort when I walk, pee, laugh, cough, etc.
