Reliable but affordable laptops?

Just started college today, and I know I need to get a laptop, so I’m looking for something reliable with a fast processor, but something affordable for a budgeting college student. Opinions?!

MacBook is well worth the investment. From 2006 to 2013, I owned Dell, Acer, Gateway and Lenovo. NONE of them lasted longer than a year. I had my first MacBook Pro from 2013 to 2017. The ONLY reason I got a new one was because my company had taken off and my MacBook was a very basic model ($1200). It just wasn’t working for my business needs. So I custom built my current one over the holidays for $3100 😬 BUT for school purposes (aka not trying to rub a business) their basic model works perfectly! And their customer support is fantastic as well.

I know Apple is expensive but I absolutely love my MacBook Air! I’ve had it for 4 years now and it still feels brand new, never had a problem with it :) idk what your budget is but I know Apple does student discounts of a couple hundred dollars so maybe that’s something to look into?

SO has a lenovo Yoga, its been really great for a year or so now. I'm not sure what your budget is, but I think he got his for around $600.

So I bought an hp for about 230 and purchased an sd card to add memory and have had no issues plus it comes in fun colors lol. another option would be any of the Microsoft surface tablets but they can get kind of pricey.. stay away from the Google chromebooks as most don't have word and I found they are not compatible with my schools website (my husband has a chromebook) hope this helps
