How to dress baby in the house?

I’m just wondering what everyone puts on their baby when they are in the house? My son just turned 3 weeks today. He is always sweaty now and I’m wondering if maybe I’m putting too much on him, but I’m scared if I leave him in just a onesie he will get sick.

feel your baby's back under the collar. If they feel warm and their little hands and feet aren't cold he's probably fine.  My girllives her life in fleece footie pajamas because our house is a little chilly and she's cold sensitive

My son is a sweaty Lil man always! From birth lol I use to have him in a singlet and onsie and he would just sweat so I just put him in a onsie but obviously if it was really cold in the house I’d dress him a bit warmer.

You’re usually advised to dress your baby in what you would find comfortable to wear. If you’re okay with shorts and a t shirt, a short sleeved onesie is fine. If it gets chilly, you can put some pants on them.

my son is also sweat he lived in a diaper for a while bc my house was warm enough for it.

Our house is set to 70F, I keep my little guy in just a long-sleeved onesie with cotton pants and socks, or in a footie pajama type onesie. He's such a wiggler that blankets don't stay on him, so I keep his arms, legs, and feet covered with clothes and socks, but nothing TOO warm. I've found that the fleecey type material is unbreathable, and he gets too hot in that, so we stick with cottons.
If your baby is sweating, definitely take off layers or unswaddle, too much sweating in babies can cause dehydration. I usually just do a skin check periodically to make sure my baby isn't ever sweating, but also doesn't have cool or cold skin.

My son would get warm easily. He usually was in a onsie, socks, and maybe a muslim blanket. This was during the summer time.

The first few weeks we just kept a diaper on our son and swaddled him if he seemed cold. It was easier with BF bc he fell asleep so quick and keeping him cool would somewhat wake him up. Now that he’s a bit older (7wks) I just keep him in pants and a onesie with short sleeves. He seems to get hot easily so this works for him.
