In desperate need of mommy help with terrible sleeper 😩
Okay so this may get long but please please read and give me any advice you could possibly have!!!
So for starters my son just turned 8 months old. He’s not a terrible sleeper but he is waking up super early. He was actually always a phenomenal sleeper. Started sleeping through the night by 3 weeks old. Eventually by 5/6 months old we had him in bed by 730/8 pm and he’d sleep until about 530/6 am. By 7 months old we started doing bedtime by 7/730 pm and he was sleeping until 530/6 am however over the last month he’s been slowly waking up earlier and earlier. First it was 515. Then 500. Then 445. And now he’s waking up at 4 am. It’s starting to take a toll. He thankfully still sleeps through the night (until 4 that is) but I know he’s not getting enough sleep. I have been reading up on it and trying to figure out what the sudden change could be. I know they go through sleep regressions but this change has been going on for a month now and it not getting better, it’s getting worse.
We have tried everything I can think of:
🔹I’ve tried putting him to bed later (yes I know it’s like a known thing that it doesn’t help but I just thought I’d try)
🔹he usually naps from 5-6pm and then bed by 7/730 so I know he’s not over tired when putting him down
🔹he knows how to self soothe as he goes to bed on his own every night in his own crib.
🔹no light is coming in the room to wake him (obviously, it’s 4 am the sun isn’t up yet)
🔹he eats food around 6/630 pm and then a bottle right before bed. I’ve tried getting him to drink more before bed incase he’s waking hungry
🔹we do not bring him in bed with us ever to try and get him to sleep longer so we aren’t giving him bad habits that turned this into a “thing”.
🔹I do have to wake up at 445 if I need to shower in the morning before work but it’s obviously not noise from that that’s waking him because he’s waking even before what. Plus that’s been a daily thing since he’s been 6 weeks old
🔹I try to go in and give him his pacifier to calm him down but he absolutely wants nothing to do with it at that time
🔹he’s not too hot or cold. We keep the house around 69 degrees and he wears nice warm jammies and is never warm in the mornings nor cold to the touch
I hope someone has some sort of insight for me!!! And if you read all of this thank you so much I really appreciate it!
