What birth control to use?

Hi ladies, so me and my fiancé will be getting married toward the end of this year and we will obviously start having sex. I am now not sure what the best birth control is? I have been on the pill before for 2 years because I had awfully irregular periods and was becoming very low in iron, and stopped taking it  due to migraines and just didn't like the idea of it anymore. This caused horrible breakouts which I'm still working on. So the idea of going back on the bc pill scares me, but non hormonal bc doesn't seem reliable enough and condoms seem inconvenient. What are your girls opinions and experiences with different birth control options? Any advice would help! Thank you!

When my husband and I were engaged, we prayed and talked about birth control a lot. He was 30 when we got married and I was 24. We knew we wanted kids, but were hoping to wait a year until trying. However, as I learned about how birth control works, I felt very convicted that I shouldn’t use it. When I explained it to him, he agreed. We both believe life begins at conception and the fact that the pill can possibly allow an egg to become fertilized but then make it impossible to implant, which is basically an abortion, really bothered us. So we ended up trusting God and saying no to birth control. I worked on tracking my cycle before we got married and after as well. We used condoms during my fertile period. We made it a couple of months before I got pregnant because I ovulated early one month. But we wouldn’t change any of it. Part of being a Christian is submitting your desires to what God calls you to and trusting that his plan and timing is better. We love our baby girl and really believe Having a baby so quickly was great for our marriage! 
That said, if you choose to use the pill, and have a clear conscience before the lord, great! Just be sure to do your research, go before God, and act in obedience. This is a very grey area and there really isn’t a perfect answer.

Not all pills are the same! I had a bad experience with the first type of BC pills I tried but when I switched to a low dose pill I had no issues :) There are also options like the Depo Shot, the patch, IUD and implant which you should talk to your lady doctor about to get the most up to date info on. I liked the pill because when I stopped taking it my cycles returned to normal within a month, whereas when I tried the depo shot it took a few months to get my cycle back. The depo shot also gave me very severe depression and hurt my marriage greatly, so keep in mind with any hormonal option you should talk to your doctor about it and keep an eye on if your mood or outlook on life changes. I had mirena too! I liked it a lot at the time, though I did notice that after I got off it I had more energy. I actually had it twice because the first time it wasn’t inserted 100%. My doctor gave me an ultrasound and the second time I had it in almost 3 years before we decided to have kids. I really did love it and didn’t think I’d want to have to remember a pill. 
I will say that my friend had the Skyla, made by the same people as mirena, and wound up pregnant. She had an ectopic pregnancy and lost one of her Fallopian tubes and an ovary. 
She’s a nurse and also mentioned that her result was incredibly uncommon. 1% of those on IUDs get pregnant and she said at that the baby implanting on the ovary is incredibly uncommon. 
I think if you go with an IUD I’d suggest mirena or the nexplanon which has no hormones bc they’ve been around longer!

I had the microgest.... pill. I hated it because I was a crazy angry emotional wreck. I honestly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I knew. I wish you the best in finding what works for you.

I used Mirena. I chose it because it's a low dose hormone. I had it in for 9 years (5 and the 4). Just had it taken out and it worked good for me.
