How do you pronounce Evie?

I LOVE this name as a playoff of Evangeline. But I’ve heard it said “ev-ee” with the beginning pronounced like Evan, but also “ee-vee” with the beginning said like emu. What do you think? I prefer it “ev-ee”.

for me it depends how the first syllable sounds.
I say Evangeline with an EEv, like Eve. so then I want to pronounce it like Ee-vee.
but with a name like Evelyn, I want to pronounce it like Ev-ee, as in Evan. 
if that makes sense.

A lady that works for me is named Evelyn, but she goes by “Evie” and pronounces it “Ev-ee”. I prefer it that way myself.🙂
