​1 ounce oil(raspberry seed oil, has about SPF 30)
​1 ounce of your choice ( coconut oil, cocoa butter, or Shea butter) I recommend using Shea butter
​1 ounce of beeswax
​5-10 drops of your favorite essential oils for scent
​
​place a jar into a pot of hot water, place all ingredients into jar and they will melt together, mix and let cool

I'm all about holistic health, and if you eat lots of fruit (and I mean lots!) before you go out in the sun, it acts as a natural, internal sunscreen

If you don't use a high sod sunscreen and have pale skin, (I do) the risk of skin cancer from sun exposure far outweighs the danger of any ingredients in the sunscreen, even if they aren't natural. Not to mention premature aging, wrinkles, and liver spots after long term exposure!

Coconut oil has a very small natural amount of spf. I use it on my skin and it works as long as you reapply. To expand on London's post, I've heard that too but you also have to cut out junk food, especially refined sugar and probably wheat too. I haven't tried this but the ancient Greeks used to boil tomatoes in olive oil (I think they consumed it) and it worked as a sunscreen. Which I think is cool.

I am also a redhead with very fair skin and freckles, had a melonoma spot removed 2 years ago.  I wear clothing from Collibar with SPF built in and a wide-brimmed hat.

I'm a redhead and im in the sun a lot. I'm not your usual redhead. I'm tan have dark brown eyes (probably cause im Italian). Have few freckles.. Nd have a copper like hair color. Though I need to still cover up in the sun since skin cancer runs in my family. I use bullfrog to cover up. It works so well.

I like Desert Essence mineral sunscreen. I don't use any products with parabens, SLSs, phthalates or gluten, so for me this one is perfect.
