I was on it for a year. The first 3 months was fine. I didn't have a period it was nice. After that i started having migraines and gained a ton of weight and i have always ate the same and exercise everyday. I started to experience depression after about 7 months after starting depo. Took 4 months after i stopped getting the shot to get a period. Within a month of not taking it i lost almost 15 pounds. I will never use it again.

Personally I have never had a  issue with the depo. Took almost a year to concieve after going off of it. But I didn't gain wait, my period completely stopped, every once in awhile I would get a migrane.

I got pregnant on the deposit shot, had a miscarriage, and haven't been able to carry after that. I was 17 at the time and it scared the crap out of me. I would never recommend it to anyone.

Personally I did good with it. I didn't gain weight like most women and I barely had a period. I was also on the Mirena for 3 yrs and loved it. Just talk to your gyn about what may be a better option.
