Is it OK for a stranger to touch your baby's hand?

I know how I feel about this. I'm just wondering how the rest of you feel.

I don't want anyone touching my baby's hand. they constantly put their hands in their mouth and I don't want baby getting sick

No stranger needs to touch any part of someone else’s child. 
This woman touched my sons blanket once and I wanted to throat punch her. If I don’t know you, you need to stay at least 2 feet away.

Personally I don't like it, but I don't want a stranger touching me either, let alone my small child. I don't know if any of the people they see daily are sick or if they've washed their hands recently. Plus I don't want my son to think as he gets older that its okay to just reach out and touch someone without their permission. Plenty of people have touched my son without asking and I generally don't say anything about it, but it does bother me.

This is how parenting has changed.. 
it used to “take a village” and so many people were involved in helping out and giving love to babies but in this parenting age every mom knows everything, no one is allowed to look at your damn baby without it being basically assault, and mom shaming is rampant. My parents and grandparents have all said that they would absolutely hate to be raising a child in this day and age. 
I have no issues with people cooing over my baby, just please don’t kiss.

I don’t think a stranger should be touching anyone whether it’s a baby or an adult without permission. If it’s about germs though, as a tiny infant I would be very concerned but as an older baby they crawl on the floor all day and if in daycare it’s prob 100x worse so. But to sum it up: no.

Nope i think anyone touching children of any age, anywhere, is uneccessary. Until the kid can decide for them selves if they want a hug or to be picked up or any thing, then no one should be touching them. This is how germs spread and children get desensitized to strangers touching them wihout consent. I dont even pet strangers animals without asking, i cant imagine just touching some babies face or arm or hand without asking if i can make contact with them

I actually had a stranger come over to us in a restaurant and put his hands out to try to pick up my baby girl who was only 5 months old 😑 I know she’s super cute but that don’t mean I’m going to let a strange man just scoop her up without even saying hello.

So I don’t mind a little old lady or whoever touching my babies little feet or belly. It’s not hurting anything. However I cringe a little when it’s the hands or face. Because they’re going to put their hands in their mouths. I won’t let children touch though. I was at a restaurant recently and a bunch of kids running around the restaurant started touching my infant daughters face. I’ve never jumped up so fast in my life and had to shoo them away.
