Giving cow milk??

Question

I don't give my baby cow milk he about to be 8 months next friday and I see his doctor Monday so I am going to ask but I've been reading a lot that parents have started their 8month-11 month old into cows milk and then getting rid of formula all together before the baby is 1 years old so young I've heard good things and hardly any bad or negative things or course I am consulting my doctor because I am just curious myself but what do you other mommies think about giving 8-11 month old baby cows mom instead of formula/breast milk

This is what it says in the book I'm reading (called Baby-Led Weaning)
“All mammal milks are designed to provide the baby animal of that species with all the nutrients he needs, in the right proportions. The only milk which can do this for human babies is human breast milk. If young children drink too much cows’ milk it can dull their appetite so that they don’t eat enough other foods, possibly making them anemic, or otherwise undernourished. This is why cows’ milk is not recommended as a drink for babies under a year old.
If you want to include cows’ milk in your child’s diet:
• Treat milk as a food rather than a drink. Use it in cooking or, once your child is over a year, offer a small amount as part of a snack (perhaps with some bread and fruit), allowing him to choose whether to drink or reject it.
• Start offering him full-fat dairy foods such as cheese, butter, and yogurt any time after six months.”

From my personal experience. My daughter is allergic to a protein found only in formula. The formula that she was recommended to have she did not like it. So when she was 2 months I started solids and 4 months old I started giving her cow milk with yogurt inside for flavor. My daughter has a healthy weight she is 7 months and one week old and she weights 18.06! I was desperate and I did it. I grew up in Cuba where every single baby drinks cow milk because over there, there is no formula... 
I personally think cow milk is completely fine to give to your baby. The only reason doctos recommend formula is because all the vitamins it has. If you’re worry that your little one is not getting vitamins then buy polivisol and that substitute all the vitamins.

I've heard that you don't start milk until 1yr.  I'm gonna have to talk to our pediatrician about it though because milk allergies run in my family.
