If it is illegal where you live, it could cause the kids to be taken away if CPS or a cop found out. I actually know someone this happened to. It definitely should not be smoked around kids or in the house. I developed asthma from my parents constantly smoking weed around me, and it is really not fun to have asthma.

in Pennsylvania CYS does one home visit to inspect everything and says as long as it is out of children's reach and not done in front of children it is okay. no case and you never hear from them again and Pa is only medically legal.

Yeah it’s illegal here where I am, but so is underaged drinking, smoking, and driving 🙄 like it’s gonna stop people from doing it. 
I live in the sticks so you see a lot of kids driving these back roads 14-15 maybe that to me is more horrific than smoking a lil reefer 😂

I don't personally smoke pot but I know lots of people who do.. usually only when they're off of parenting duties ( like at a party or something) or when the kiddo is in bed. I see it no different than drinking alcohol (which I also don't do) . moderation and appropriate timing is very important of course.
