Lip tied?

Sooo I'm pretty sure my 2 week old is lip tied :( she has most of the symptoms as do I. Anyone have any knowledge or advice? I'm going to try to get her seen tomorrow

My daughter had a lip tie until 6 weeks old. Breastfeeding was such a major pain up until she got it snipped. Now everything is going great, it's like a miracle! I would definitely suggest getting it done! The procedure is pretty quick and easy, although traumatizing to watch, but definitely worth it

Op: just to update everyone she saw her doctor today who confirmed her lip tie and set us up with an apt for tomorrow morning with an ent to be evaluated for the procedure.

What are the symptoms you and your daughter are having?? I think my 9 week old might have a lip tie too... Lactation consultant and pediatrician did not check for it. When I brought it up, her pediatrician only checked for a tongue tie.

I actually had a terrible experience with the LC back when she was 3 weeks old, and left feeling miserable and like a failure. So I realized this past week that I have been putting off going back due to that bad experience 😞 and finally took initiative to find a different LC, who I'll see this week. I hope they can help me resolve the pain and clip the tie if needed!

Is it affecting your ability to breastfeed?

If not, probably no need to worry. If it is, I would start talking to a lactation consultant and your child's pediatrician. Someone should be able to make a referral for clipping the tie.
