Is this what a cracked nipple looks like?

I'm breastfeeding and my left breast was KILLING to feed on. Hurts so so bad. I decided to take a look at my nipple and found this huge gash/open wound??? Idk if this is what they mean when they say cracked nipples? Or is this just like a cut or something. ??

my son latches well. but he pulls and i think thats how it happens

you can also use a nipple shield while nursing on that side instead of pumping til it heals. it will keep bacteria and such out of the wound so you don't get mastitis from it.

He’s not latching on right try feeding him the right breast and pumping the left one till it heals
