Are transvaginal ultrasound safe?

I read a lot of people had miscarriage after it, the doctor wants to do it I'm only almost 5 weeks! Anyone had it, are they safe, what was your experience?

Not painful and definitely safe. The rumor about it causing miscarriage is only around because the 2 events tend to occur around the same time anyway. Much like the onset of Autism and a child being given the MMR vaccine....it's all pure coincidence and bad timing on natures part 😏

This was at 5wks6days transvaginal.

This was done at the hospital while I was in the middle of having a threatened miscarriage. Baby is now 13wks and my doctor says its quite healthy :3

Unfortunately due to the nature of miscarriage and how it can be hard to tell what causes them in early pregnancy a lot of things that women commonly do get pegged for being the culprit. As far as i know, they are very safe and the picture here is WAY More clear than the normal ultrasound I had done two weeks later.

They're totally safe. A little uncomfortable, but mine were never painful.

The only time they do them that early is if you are already miscarrying. I had one at 4 weeks because of my miscarriage and it didn't seem like it would hurt anything if I wasn't already losing the baby.

I had one done at 6 weeks 5 days. No issues whatsoever, and it gave us a much better picture of the baby since it was so early!

I had 3 of them. Once was just to see and then I had a regular visit then I was bleeding a bit so they checked again. 18 weeks no miscarriage

I had to have one every month because my placenta was low now I'm done with them because it moved up , they're just embarrassing and uncomfortable and hurt a little, but depends on who's doing it , was getting fed up with them and going to deny the next but I'm done tg
