Is Cheating a Mistake or a Choice?

I came across this post on Facebook and wanted to see what the Glow Community thought. 
Personally for me it’s a choice, it doesn’t “just happen”.

Choice. Always. When they say “It was a mistake” or “I wasn’t thinking”, like nah, they thought about it and it lead up to the cheating, and they just weren’t thinking about you 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s always a choice. You have more than enough time to think it over and stop yourself from making the mistake. If you’re unhappy in your relationship that you’re resorting to cheating you should just break up with the person first.

It’s a choice because some people will cheat and not even think they made a mistake because they don’t see any wrong in what they did.

Well I think the word mistake is maybe not the best to use. I think a lot of mistakes, if not most, are choices. Cheating is also a mistake, but the people chose to do it. I chose to cheat on my ex boyfriend. I don’t regret it and it wasn’t a mistake for me. But I think many people do tend to regret cheating. Many don’t as well, but yeah, I’m not much of a believer of the “I was drunk and it was an accident” or “I got caught up in the moment.”

Definitely a choice. You don’t accidentally show sexual interest in someone, you don’t accidentally kiss someone or have sex with them. There are choices made every step of the way. Feeling bad about it after doesn’t make it a mistake. It makes it a bad decision, but one they made.

You can blame cheating on anyone, the devil, the other person, drugs, alcohol, etc but at the end of the day you make the choice to get in the bed with someone that is not your SO.

It’s not a mistake unless you enter a dark room thinking you SO is in there and engage in sexual activities and it’s actually some one else and they don’t tell you otherwise. 
And really, how often does that happen 🙄
