Gaining weight on birth control?

I’ve heard that being on birth control can make you gain a lot of weight.  Is this true? does anyone have any experience with this and if so what type of birth control? I’m not on any bc right now but I want to consider having it

I gained weight on the pill I stopped taking it and lost the weight

I didn't gain weight on the pill (well, I did, but definitely not because of the pill) and I actually lost weight after having my implant put in.
If you are already or are planning to become sexually active, don't let something like potential weight gain keep you from protecting yourself. What is a few pounds of extra weight compared to the consequences of becoming pregnant before you're ready?

it made me gain it and three years later still trying to lose it. I'll never recommend the depo shot

Birth control does not make you gain weight. Any doctor will tell you that. The depo shot can make you more hungry and lots of people who don’t notice it and eat more do gain weight.

ive been on the pill for over 10 years many different ones and i have not gained weight.

I have been on and off birth control since I was 15 (now 18) and have noticed that I do have a bigger appetite when on it. Mostly cravings of junk food which will make you gain weight. I have been on my new pill for 2.5 months and have gained 5 pounds. It is different for everyone. You won't know how you react till you try it.

I was on birth control for several years in between I switched from the patch to the shot to the iud and lastly this last year I had the pills and all those years I from my normal weight I gained 3 pounds and that was it but everyone’s body is different so there’s no way to know what will make u gain weight .. I’ve heard many girls gain weight on the shot though different experiences
