Child support question?

I live in wyoming. My friend's husband has a kid from a previous relationship and they were told that if she gets a job her income will be considered for child support as well. I am now pregnant, and my now ex boyfriend is married. They are separated, but not legally. If I file for child support, will his wife's income be considered too? Or will she not matter because they don't live together?

I don't think they can legally make a spouse pay for the SO's previous child, especially that was a fact before the marriage. I have never heard of this. Do they Maybe own a business together or something along those lines of shared income

In Texas they don't consider the bio mothers income either, it is souly based off of the bio dads income! I make more than he does and he still pays me 20% of his paycheck, and they take it out of his check before he receives it because he didn't pay child support for over 2 years! I don't think many states consider your income at all... Nobody's income comes into play except the bio fathers

Only the biological parents income is used to figure child support out. That means yours and the child's father.

Not sure about where you are but in Australia it's only the parents incomes who are considered. I'm engaged and were I to make my ex-husband pay child support, my SO's income wouldn't count.

You just need to ring whichever govt angency it is that deals with child support, and ask them if it counts or not.

Also what do you mean by not legally seperated? If they are not living together, then I cannot imagine any reason why they would count her income. I'm still legally married to my ex-husband and his income doesn't count towards anything I do, because we don't live together.
