Giving 6 month old juice?!

My husband and I let his parents keep our little girl ( almost 6 months old) overnight and when we got there to pick her up they informed us they gave her some baby apple juice. They have always been really good with her about letting us do the "firsts" first but this really worried me. At what age do you even start letting your baby try baby juice...and am I wrong for kind of being pissy that she didn't try it under my supervision?!  That's something for us to experience as parents is the way I see it. Please inform me if I am wrong.

I don’t give it that early. But 6 months is the age to generally start introducing solids if they are ready. So I wouldn’t freak out. Just let them know it’s more sugar than you want them to have and you don’t want them to give it to her again until you say it’s okay. I really don’t think it’s something to blow up over or let yourself stew over too long. No need to build resentment needlessly.

I would be so mad. Especially since I don’t plan on giving my child juice until they are much much older. Too much sugar and will ruin their teeth and appetite for other things.

Babies should not get anything other than breast milk until after a year. I would be upset too, it is no one's place except for you to introduce anything to you baby. It is you who has to take a risk and watch to see if they are allergic and see how they react to different things. I would also understand not to get too mad, they have had a baby and have experience so in general most people follow what they are use to and see it as the right way.

I’d be pretty annoyed. My cousin gave my 6 month old a bit of milky bar chocolate without asking me and I was so mad at her.

No juice until 1, and even then I wouldn’t give them any.  An infant doesn’t need to fill their belly with something other than formula or baby food.  Those things have the nutrients they need for their development not juice

Juice has no nutritional value to babies that young.. At least, that's what my baby's pediatrician has said.
