Overactive letdown go away?

FTM here baby is 8 weeks old.  A couple of weeks ago I could tell I had overactive let down. The milk would pool all over her mouth and she would cough and choke. Well all of a sudden that stopped.? Does it even itself out? I also feel like my supply has decreased in the past couple days. I hate not knowing how much she is getting! She also grunts a lot during feedings and I. The begging will pull on and off.  I feel like she’s never satisfied. She eats every 2-3 hours and sometimes every hour!

If she isn’t crying after she eats, you’re making plenty. Eating every hour can be normal. Cluster feeding is normal when
They’re little. As for the over active letdown, lean back when you’re starting out and it’ll help!

breastfed babies eat far more often than formula fed babies. breastmilk is meant for babies and thus is readily digested whereas formula isn't optimum and is more difficult for baby to digest.
eating every 2-3 hours is normal. eating every hour is normal. baby changes timing of feedings to adjust your best milk supply luv

Your body will regulate for the baby. So, yes, your letdown can slowdown. Mine dod with my first. When she is hungry, she’ll send signals to your body to produce more milk. Those growth spurts where baby cries and feeds a lot- that’s her telling your body to make more milk. Just keep drinking lots of water and hang in there. You’re doing good!

Yep all normal don’t worry! It should settle and you should feel less full 👍 and as above... an 8 week old baby should certainly be breastfeeding that often. Sounds like you’re doing a fab job.
