No period yet

Hey! I’m an 21 and I’ve had scares where I haven’t gotten my period before, and I understand it may just be late since I’ve never had sex. I’m just a little worried since it’s almost February and no period yet. My last period was on December 23rd, and I’m just wondering why it could be late? Ik this probably sounds like a stupid question.
