Can mastitis affect milk supply?

I have mastitis for the second time since my son was born and it seems like both times my supply declines significantly when I get it. Ironic because I nurse him much more frequently when I have mastitis. Has anyone else experienced a decline in milk supply following a bout of mastitis? Any tips on what I can do to increase my supply? Last time we came very close to supplementing because he was so hungry and I just couldn’t get him what he needed. Hoping that doesn’t happen this time. 😕
