It's a myth. Scientifically speaking, there is no higher rate of speed between the two

If it were to be true that sperm with Y chromosome sex genes (boy) swim faster than those with X chromosome sex genes (girl) this logic should apply to all stages of the cycle and ratios of getting a boy vs a girl should be significantly higher in general. During ovulation your womb is more easy to reach but that would be the case for both 'kinds' of sperm. I'm no biologist but I don't think it's true.

I have heard this personally. Make sperm are supposedly faster swimmers and can reach the egg more quickly if there is one there already (like day of ovulation) but female sperm last longer, so if you have sex a day or two before ovulation most of the male sperm have died and the female are there to reach the egg. 
I have 2 boys and a third on the way. But I wasn’t tracking my ovulation, so 🤷🏼‍♀️
