Electric Blankets?

I just read quite a few articles that stated pregnant women really shouldn’t be using electric blankets pretty much at all. Has annoying talked to their doctors about this? My appointment isn’t till after 10 weeks but I use mine a ton and need to know. 😬

Never heard of this. The whole thing with heat and pregnancy is that you don’t want to raise your core temperature to high. Let’s say it’s absolutely freezing outside. You come home plug in your blanket and warm up for 10-15 minutes, you’ll be fine. Versus living in a heated blanket and getting uncomfortably warm, if you get sick or uncomfortably hot get out! Same goes for showers. I LOVE hot showers but can only be in them for short periods of time now cause I get to hot. As soon as I hit that stage I get out and go lay down till my body temp regulates. There are a lot of dos and donts to pregnancy. I take most lightly and actually think about it and if it really makes sense. For instance food, there are so many foods you “can’t” eat. But in reality you actually can eat it. “Seafood” is a nono, but for many women in foreign coast countries that’s a main source of food. And I’m not gonna be told fast food is a better option than fresh seafood, no way! I’ll take a shrimp scampi before I consider a Big Mac!! Crazy food moms just like to scare the shit out of people 🤷🏼‍♀️ if you want crab, steak, cheese, a sub sandwich, coffee, etc. go ahead and eat/drink it. The chances of getting listeria are so small and you can actually get it from anything. Enjoy your food and comforts, with moderation of course.  You really want to get a mani pedi and treat yourself? Go ahead! Don’t let bubble moms scare you.

The whole reason is to not get too hot. You can use it, just don't make yourself sweat or anything

I used one for most of my pregnancy. Baby is fine. I am fine.

Don’t use one when you’re asleep because you won’t know if you’re getting too hot.

I  was told not to, unless it's for a short period of time. When I get my prenatal massages, my masseuse puts a heated blanket on my lower back while she works on my arms..  but it's only for max 20 minutes and she monitors it..
