I’m about 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I went for an ultrasound yesterday. The doctor saw a sack but no fetus inside it. He ordered me to do a blood test to determine if my hormone levels are increasing which turns out they are. But then he said the hormone level number that came back a fetus and heartbeat should be present. He called my pregnancy an adnormal pregnancy and he has to think about if I should proceed or terminate the pregnancy. I’ve read so much that at 5 weeks it’s very common not to see a fetus! I’m so confused, worried and overall sad. Should I seek a second opinion? Has anyone gone through the same situation and can shed some light on this topic??
