Having a problem with the sound on my laptop

Anybody that watches DVDs on a laptop, have you experienced the sound being lower when watching a dvd than when watching like Netflix, Hulu, or whatever you watch?

Ever since my tv broke we’ve been having to watch movies on my laptop, we were watching Netflix but my WiFi is temporarily cut off until the bill gets paid Thursday. So we really have no choice but to watch dvds.

I’ve noticed though that when watching dvds the sound is super low? I’ve turned up the volume on every setting that I can and it really hasn’t made any difference. I had to turn my fan off so we could hear it and even after we can still barely hear it, but when watching something on an app (Netflix) it’s always really loud. Is this normal?😂 Sorry I don’t know much about this stuff, I never really used my laptop until our tv broke.🤷🏻‍♀️
