Fat = ugly???

Question

So, I hear so many people say “You’re not fat, you’re beautiful!” as if fat meant they were ugly. And I don’t get it? Fat is fat or overweight. It’s not a synonym to ugly, so why do people use that as a counter argument? I am stumped, honestly.

Fat and ugly arent synonymous. And ima go head a post a picture of my fat ass as an example. 😂😂  I may be a big girl but I slay the mf game . Like look im pretty but I like pizza and beer okay 👌

I agree with you. That’s why I like taking ownership of the word fat and normalizing it for myself. Fat is a descriptor like tall, short, skinny, curly etc. The reason people shy away from the term fat is because of fat stigma.

People that think they’re fat feel ugly, at least I feel that way when I feel fat. So people say they’re beautiful trying to get that mentality out of the heads of people thinking this way. I could see someone who isn’t skinny and still think they’re beautiful but if I’m not skinny I just don’t feel that way. I guess it’s the way you look at yourself that fat got associated with the word ugly even though it’s not at all in reality.
