What does this even mean?
I’m on the pill. I’ve been on loestrin 1.5/30 since June when I stopped breastfeeding my son. I took it prior to TTC and had no issues. At that time, the pharmacy I was using carried the Junel Fe brand. Since restarting it in June, I have had lots of issues. The pharmacy I use now has varied in the brand name (Microgestin first then Blisovi Fe), so I don’t know if it has been a difference in brand name? I don’t think that’s it since the ingredients are the same, but that has been a difference I’ve noticed.
So the issues I have had are breakthrough bleeding and irregular periods. The last several months, I have spotted off and on about halfway through my cycle before having a normal period during my placebo week. However, in December, I had a full period in the middle of my cycle due to one episode of vomiting about 3 hours after taking my pill. I never missed any other pills or was late, but I had a full 5 day period in the middle of my cycle.
This month has been strange. I have been spotting for over a week now. I have been worried that if my pill isn’t working correctly, I may have gotten pregnant because my husband and I had sex twice right around the time I should have been ovulating if the pill was not working. I wasn’t monitoring for this, so I can’t say for sure, but then 6 days later, I started spotting. My first thought was possible implantation bleeding, so I monitored it to see what happened. I kept spotting but after about 5 days, I decided to take a test just to see what happened. It was negative. I continued to have a small amount of spotting, so the morning after my first placebo pill, I tested again. Also negative. I am still spotting now and AF should have begun yesterday. I don’t know if I just won’t have a full period this time because of all the spotting leading up to this or if I should test again just to see. My doctor changed my Rx to a new combination pill (Mononessa), but I won’t start it until Sunday when I would have started a new pack of pills anyway.
Am I broken? Am I pregnant? Should I just wait it out and see what happens with the new pill? How do I even know when/if to say my period actually started this month? Should I start from when it was due or should I start from when the spotting began over a week ago?
Help please! Thank you!
