Tips for a long trip?

My husband and I are driving from Boston to Ohio tomorrow. Anybody have some good tips for road travel while pregnant? I'm currently 19 weeks 3 days.

My doc said take lots of potty/stretching breaks. I'd def wear comfy clothes, and bring a pillow, plenty of drinks and snacks!

I was just at my OB's office at 20 weeks, and she said from this point on, whether it be car, plane, etc., I need to stop every hour and walk/stretch! Good luck :)

I drove from Michigan to Florida 16 hour trip. The bathroom breaks weren't to terrible but the swelling in my feet from being stuck in one position were terrible. I would definitely say you'll need to stretch. A lot. Maybe even elevate your feet while in the car.

My husband and I are driving 6 hours to my dads house. We plan to leave at 8pm so I can sleep most of the way. I'll have plenty of water and snacks.

Lots of water and lots of stretch/ walk it out breaks.  I went on a 2 hr flight in March and my doc told me then to make sure I moved around.

We're driving 9 hours to the beach in a month. I love the beach but I'm not looking forward to the drive. I'll be 26-27 weeks. My husband doesn't like to stop on road trips...he just wants to get there.  But I told him this time has to be different.

I took a red eye last week and wore comfy clothes and compression socks to help with swelling. The best thing you can do is get up and move around as often as you can. Good luck!
