Does anyone else’s husband do this?

My husband is on leave because i recently just had a baby a week ago and all he does is sit on his phone and watches videos all day long. Even when we go out to eat as soon as we get our food he turns his videos back on while i just sit there. I try to talk to him but he gets so into the videos he watches he doesn’t here unless i repeat myself. Also he doesn’t help with the baby as much as i wish. I get up in the middle of the night to take care of my son and if i ask for help he just lays there. It’s getting really frustrating to the point it’s making me depressed. The only time he talks to me or turns off the videos off his phone is when he wants sexual favors from me

I tell him to get his ass in gear or he can go back to work because he’s doin you no good at home . He’s only causing you stress

Okay, so another take on this...Maybe you husband is suffering from post pardom depression. Men can experience this as well. It sounds like maybe he is feeling overwhelmed and trying to escape into something else that can distract him. It's important to take care of each other. I Also have come to discover my husband was a little sad after the baby was born because the baby took all of my attention. Perhaps you can try and still do nice things for him! You may see him return the favor as he feels loved and not forgotten. This is such a big change in the both of your lives. Try and communicate.

My husband was home 6 weeks when my baby was born. I swear my couch had an indent and I did everything except cook dinner

I’d definitely talk to him. Sometimes when I get overwhelmed it’s easier for me to check out on my phone than to talk to my husband. Especially bc I’ve been with my toddler all day and just need some alone time. Doesn’t make it ok though

Wow this is literally my boyfriend. I make him turn is phone off. He will either sit there on look at gun groups on Facebook or play his stupid hunting game. Even when we are grocery shopping. He comes home and I ask him if he wants to hold his baby. He says “no I’m okay” the only time he does anything is when I set the baby next to him crying and go do whatever I need to do.
