So my boyfriend just told me him and his family are going out of town February 14&15 .......... WHAT out of all the two days y’all could go y’all wanna go on fucking Valentines Day and it’s our first VDay since we’ve only been together for 7months... I understand family comes first I’m not too upset but I guess I’ll just get drunk with my single girl friends instead

Valentine's Day is a Hallmark holiday. It's mainly superficial and materialistic. Celebrate it any day of the year. You have been together for a blink of an eye...don't be the one who gets all crazy over a holiday. Let him be with his family and be happy that he has a family that does things together.

I usually don't celebrate holidays on the day themselves. It's not that important to me as long as we get to do something together when we can

Tell him. Some people don’t really celebrate valentines or see it as important, but he might adjust things for you. You can do things beforehand.

I'm over Valentines Day just because my bf has given me gifts, flowers, stuffed animals on a regular day. And he buys me chocolate every time I want something sweet. We usually just go eat but if didn't or couldn't I'd be ok with it. As long as u love each other that's what's important every day not just Valentine's Day.

I prefer to go out a week before or after Valentine's day. not so crazy busy, so it's easier to get a table. we are going out the 8th or 9th. I have appointments both days, so it just makes it easier to take one trip to the city instead of three.
other days, like our anniversary and birthdays are different. it makes me sad when it's not on the day.

As much as that sucks, I’m sure it’d be just as good to celebrate on another day, either before he leaves or after he gets back
