Bad mom?

Question

How some moms could put their babies to crib drowsy but awake and they will go to sleep? I need to rock and walk and feed my LO for good 20-30 mins... am I doing smth wrong? He is 4 Months btw ( and my friend’s baby who she is putting to bed also 4 Months)

You’re not a bad mum. Your baby is just different. You’re not doing anything wrong, neither is your baby. My daughter is ten months old and I still rock her to sleep before putting her in her crib asleep. When I’ve attempted putting her in her crib drowsy but awake she has screamed bloody murder and it’s been horrible for both of us. I don’t mind giving my baby cuddles to sleep if it’s what she needs to feel safe and comforted enough to go to sleep ❤️

Some babies are just like that even until 1-2yrs old. It’s just their personalities. Do whats best for your baby!

Nope! Is it a problem for you? If yes, then there are lots of tops online to help baby go down alone. If no, then just stick with whatever works. I nurse my son to sleep, he's 7 months and it takes less than ten minutes now. The best thing I learned is that if something is working for us then I'm not going to change it. 😊

At 4months babies go through a huge developmental leap which can cause them to be cranky, clingy and cry more often. 
Highly recommend downloading the app called ‘the wonder weeks’. It has heaps of info about when they go through the leaps and what to expect with each one 😊

You’re fine!! I rocked my baby to sleep until close to her first birthday. Then we got to the point where she didn’t want to be rocked and we were both frustrated. So we did sleep training, and she was ready! Took to it very well. We used a gentle approach called the sleep lady shuffle and there were very few tears, and we were right there to comfort her. If sleep training is something you want to do, then that’s fine. If not, then rock that baby all you want. You’re a good mom either way!

you do what you are comfortable with. Not doing what other moms are doing doesn't make you a bad mom! 
some nights I had to rock my daughter to sleep, or go calm her down several times before she would fall asleep. other nights she would just be zonked out.
each night was different for us, until we figured out a routine.

I wish I could of put my son in his bed and went to sleep he’s 19 months old now and I just started being able to do that.

I used to have to rock but began putting her down awake and letting her cry a little (never longer than 10 mins and only grizzly crying not super wound up) and now she goes to sleep alone every time. Every baby is different and every mums different but it’s been a life saver for us
