Do you think that texting, messaging everyday all day is an important part of a relationship?

I ask this bc I have been talking to this one guy for a while now and we just went on our first date this weekend and it was amazing!!! We spent most of the day together!!
The thing is that he is not the best person to text— his responses are a little bland however, when we talk on the phone and when we are in person, everything is so much better! You would think that they are completely different people.
Not only is the texting bland but we don’t message each other all day. But he always messages me with a good morning msg first. He takes a while to reply or doesnt reply at all. But I get it, he’s at work and he might be doing other stuff....
Errr I’m conflicted bc in the past, the guys ive dated had great convos over text and social media but the connection was lacking when we met in person.
With this guy, it is the total opposite. Texting is bland but the connection is there when we are in person. He’s sweet, silly, funny and outgoing in person but texting him is literally “hey beautiful” “awwww” “hahahahaa” “lol” and descriptions of what we are doing unless I ask an actual question.
What do you think? Good or bad? How can I improve communication through text? Am I putting too much attention to texting?? 
Ughh I hate the new age technology and social media... so much pressure on how much you should be “keeping in touch with” others

I hope not, because me and my husband never text all day, every day. We have a great relationship. He works hard at work so I get he doesn’t have time to be texting me all day.
He also never posts on social media either 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't think it's important at all. Not for everyone anyways. I get annoyed when I don't have any time to myself - texting me nonstop is a sure way to drive me crazy and possibly end the relationship(I don't like clinginess). 
Also - what do you think people did before there were phones and internet? All relationships just failed because they couldn't talk 24/7? No. Having time apart is healthy.

I think you're putting too much into texting. Some people just don't like to do it! If you have a great connection in person and over the phone (my guy hates it!) then who cares? If this turned into a long term thing, you'll be spending a lot of time together, face to face, not texting. The only thing that could change my mind would be if he's texting others constantly when he's with you but it doesn't sound like that's the case. You'll just have to accept you might've found a great guy who's a bit old fashioned. :)

texting... all day? I would die. leave me aloneeeeee! I don't think I could stand someone wanting to be up my butt all the time. so maybe he is like that? idk, I love my husband to bits and don't get me wrong there are times when we'll text a lot or stay on the phone a lot but not everyday. even when he's out of town. I have too many other things I'd rather focus on than keeping up small talk and I really like my alone time. I would just get really annoyed and feel stifled if someone was constantly wanting to talk. if yall are great in person, that's what really matters. plus, if you talk all the tune when you're apart... what is there to talk about when you're together? lol. but I'm also very introverted.

I don’t think that texting all day is important. Maybe once or twice throughout the day to check up and make sure everything is okay. Maybe just an “I love you” every once in a while goes a long way with me. I also wouldn’t worry about how his messages seem to be bland. Texting is a terrible way to communicate because you can’t understand someone’s intent from a text message. He might be absolutely thrilled to be texting you.
I’m lucky if my husband texts me or even responds to my texts. I find it annoying when he doesn’t respond to texts because he’s almost always scrolling through Facebook anyway, so he should be able to reply.
I suppose some people just aren’t attached to their phones.

Communication is VERY important, but you shouldn’t have to text/talk to someone all day everyday. It’s considered rude to those around you, it’s clingy, and can develop into something worse.
I had a boyfriend a while ago who thought that a couple should talk/text/ be with each other 24/7. We only dated for maybe a month a half because of that reason. It became so unhealthy because when I was doing school, he would become angry if I didn’t respond right away or make accusations and assumptions that I hated him or that I was cheating on him. He gave me no room to breathe or have a social life with my friends, I couldn’t even go to sleepovers without him blowing up my phone the entire time. Being in a clingy, 24/7 communication relationship like that can cause someone to become obsessive or controlling, and it’s so scary and stressful to be in a relationship like that. My parents ended up having to put a restraining order against him because of it.
Now, I’ve been with my current boyfriend for almost 6 years, and we’re long distance at the moment because of college. We started dating in middle school, was together through all of high school, and we both only have a year left of college. We don’t talk all day everyday because we both have school and jobs and other priorities, and we have a very healthy relationship. It’s all about trust, honesty, and loyalty. We text/talk everyday, but only a few texts a day (maybe 10 from each of us) and we talk on the phone or FaceTime once or twice every weekend, and sometimes once during the week if he gets a few minutes during his study hall.
I honestly just don’t recommend the constant communication because of how unhealthy it can become. It can cause you to stray away from those who love you because you’re only focused on that one person.
