Can you think of a non-derogatory replacement for the word slut? Take a quick look at this conversation I had with my friend about it.

I'll admit when I was younger, I thought being a slut was a bad thing. But the older and more mature I've gotten, I realized that there's no shame in enjoying sex, and if it's your cup of tea I don't think it's wrong to enjoy it casually.

Do you think it's a problem that the only words for slut are considered derogatory? Do you think we should work for the word itself to not be considered an insult?

Also consider, there's really no male equivalent for the word. The closest I've ever heard is, "man whore," which is still using a word normally specified for women, or else you wouldn't have to add the "man" part. What do you think about that?

EDIT: A lot of people are saying there just shouldn't be a word for it, or having a word for it is insulting. It's like I commented on another reply; we call people who like to draw artistic. We call people who like sports athletic. So why can't we have a word for someone that likes sex? It shouldn't be insulting.
