Membrane sweeping?

How invasive is this? Is it something any of you would ever do?

Not very invasive nor painful.
Still- I would do it only if the other choices were artificial inductions. ... but I'm a freak of natural births...

I had this done by my OB without warning. My experience was different than the previous comments. I found it extremely painful. It did work though. I just wish I'd known then what I know now and I would have refused any kind of induction.

I've had it done with all three of my children. Not invasive at all and it worked for me with all of my babies.

Anytime something enters your vagina I'd consider it invasive as it can  cause labor and/or introduce bacteria. 
I would only get a sweep done if I was  42+ weeks and it was a means of avoiding pitocin or something like it.
