So! My little one is now 3 days old! We've been pushing breastfeeding and latching since he came out but he's had some difficulty with my flat nipples.. a nipple shield has saved everything! He's getting so much! However I've noticed that when he's got a strong latch now his lips are turning purple after sucking for some time.. why could this be?

And I know my milk is coming in so I can expect some soreness and tightness but is there anything else I should be doing besides feeding him and massaging my breasts to keep ducts open? It's probably completely normal but I'd prefer to ask just to be sure! 💙💙💙
