What are the disadvantages of Depo contraceptive injections?

I don't know if that's what it's called, something like that but is it true they make you infertile?

I was on depo for two years had no problems. Until I stopped taking it a year ago. I have not had a normal cycle since. I get horrible migraines and terrible cramps and all sorts of other pms symptoms. I would not recommend it. I am still waiting to get my period back

Bled for 6mnths straight became anemic. The hormones really acrewed up my system it took a good 18mnths to get back into a normal cycle

My hair thinned, clumps would come out in the shower every day. It gave me hormonal acne. Some people don't like needles. Increase in bone density loss with long term use. Weight gain.

My mom gained 5 pounds a month on depo and tells everyone to stay the hell away from it. I also know a few girls that were total psychos and were on the depo...but maybe that was a coincidence. 😂

I'm only 16 and I got it about a year ago, I've gained almost 25 pounds. I was under weight before, now I'm about 120, but I gained the weight so quickly it's leaving stretch marks and lowering my confidence. I spot the 3 weeks before I go back for my shot, it comes and goes pretty much, and it's very light. I wanna switch back too the pill because i read a lot of long term health problems it can actually do to you.

I got the shot right after my son was born I hated making the apts every 3 months to get it first I hate the Drs I spotted for 3 months straight and had bad headaches but everyone reacts different

honestly i loved it, aside from gaining 25 pounds. 😅
so weight gain is a disadvantage.
also, drink a lot of milk as it can weaken your bones.

Idk..I guess it depends on the person...but I took the depo for 3yrs on n off, n when I got off it completely, n my cycle was back to normal, I got pregnant a few months after that...my bby boy is 3, n I just had another bby...but some ppl say that it makes u fertile.. I think its true...
