My son has had a yellow coating on his tongue for about a week. He eats yellow baby snacks that I thought could be the reason for this but its never fully gone away. I thought thrush was white? He has no white anywhere on his tongue. And it’s been only yellow this whole time. I called the doctor but they never called me back.

What could this be?

Sorry he’s so messy. Holding his oatmeal in front of his face during breakfast was the only way to get a picture

UPDATE: I tried to brush his tongue as best as possible and it came off. It’s not nearly like the picture now. But I swear I saw white on the EXTREME back of his tongue. But he won’t let me see back there again. 😭
