Can you ovulate before lh surge? HELP!

My temp rise & my charts indicate ovulation Wednesday (fertility friend) or Thursday (glow) but I don’t think I actually ovulated until yesterday when I had killer O pains. Maybe having a cold screwed with my temps? I feel like I’ve been really hot in my sleep too, Clomid effect?? Or did I actually O 24 hours before a positive opk?! (I took 3 on Thursday: clearly negative @ 6 am, dark but not quite there around 2, and positive at 6pm). Is that even possible?
