Embarrassing 😑 but beginner cook here. Baked chicken... how long do I put it in the oven for??

And I just sprinkle oil over it, with salt, pepper, and garlic powder; right?  Maybe chili pepper?  Do I put foil down first on the baking sheet?  Brand new cook here... lol... thanks ladies !
Will be cooking chicken breasts!  Also, what temp do I put the oven at?

I put foil down first. You don’t have to I just do it because it is less messy that way. I rub it in oil, season it with whatever seasoning you want and bake it. Look online I think it has to be cooked to at least 165 degree core temp.

You can speinkle all of that and add either seasoning salt, old bay, adobo or bbq sauce. I then probably add onion, bell pepper, and maybe potato cubes and cover with foil .... set stove one 350-380 degrees and i leave in 45 minutes covered with foil then 25 to 40 min uncovered for a crispier skin.

For boneless skinless chicken breasts a normal temp is about 350 degrees for around twenty to thirty minutes depending on the size. The internal temp has to be 165 or it is raw. Now when it comes out of the oven it will still cook a little more from the heat of the chicken itself. If it is bone in chicken it takes longer 45 to 60 minutes depending on the size but the temp should be the same.

Depends on what style of chicken your cooking. If it's just chicken breasts I'd say about 20mins and then check to see if cooked. Roast will be a lot longer (unsure of time as I don't cook roasts). Don't think foil or no foil will make a difference. Depends on how much you want to have to clean the tray.
