My 2yr old rarely eats
So... Before I start I just want to say I'm looking for a pediatrician, because obviously she needs to see one for general health.
My daughter and I got really sick a few month back. I was hospitalized for throwing up bile literally every 5 minutes for hours and she had projectile vomited, diarrhea and fever. We had a stomach virus and received medication, IV fluid and observation. It was hell, never want to experience that ever again.
Before this, she ate normally. She never liked fruit to begin with, but would eat on her own-veggies, meat, beans, bread. (a nice amount of food on her own plate) I never had to try convincing her to eat or making things look more appealing to her in any way for her to eat.
I recently went to WIC and when they weighed her she was red flagged. I've noticed her get a bit smaller, but not so much. Red flagged for her age is 2 or more pounds, and she's 2lbs under the
ideal weight.
literally all she will eat is bread, tortillas and such. She likes to snack, but I idea snacks as a reward for using the potty. She drinks milk in her sippy cup, which I figure keeps her full, but that obviously isn't nutritious.
The last 2 days or so we've started using pediasure as a supplement and I've been making mini quesadillas and taquitos. I try stuffing them with things I know she needs, which is a hit or miss. I've also been doing smoothies with fruit and veggies, which doesn't always go well.
She isn't the type to "not give her anything all day, she'll eventually get hungry", because she doesn't.
I'm really here to ask for suggestions. I'd like to reiterate, I'm looking for a Pediatrician she can see it her insurance of course... in the meantime, anyone have experienced anything similar to this with their child(Ren) etc?
Please help! I really hate her not eating and am running out of ideas.
