Curious...

Has anyone gained the recommended amount of weight and still had a large baby? I gained 40 with my daughter and she was right under 9lbs. This time around I've been more cautious and have gained just the recommended amount; I'm up 13lbs at 30 weeks. Very curious if this little boy will be like his big sister or a more average weight!

I gained way too much the first time, 50 lbs, baby was 9'4 I'm on track to gain recommended 30ish this time, I don't think he will be small, big babies run in the family and his dad and myself are tall, not small people. Also my sister gained less the second time and had a bigger baby

On my side of the family babies are all 7lbs and under, even the boys. But my husband was 10lbs and I just get the feeling that together we can't make a smaller baby lol

I was wondering this too, my husband and I are pretty tall both 5'10 so I think she'll be long but weight size I don't know? I've gained 7 lbs and I'm 31 weeks. I was only to gain 15-20 so I'm right on track. Everyone says we'll have a huge baby and that kind of bugs me, no one really knows? Dr says I'm measuring right on track according to my weeks.

I'm 5'10, hubs is 6'6 our first daughter was 9lbs 4 oz. she was 23 inches long though so long and lean sort of. I also hate when people say "your baby is going to be huge!" Although I wouldn't be surprised if my son is bigger when he comes

I gained 40 with my first, I'm at the suggested weight but I have 11 weeks to go so I'm sure I'll be way over that. 😑

You also have to consider fluid retention, fluids and placenta. Your baby may only be 7.5lbs, but you could lose 15lbs at birth and then drop another 10 from retention.

I gained 30 pounds with my son and he was 8 pounds 4 ounces I think baby's weight typically is an average of mommy and daddy's weight (with the exception being gd)

I don't know if it's correlated. I gained almost 40 lbs last time and my baby was under six lbs.
