I'm confused, how is this considered abuse?

I'm very confused by this, I didn't know doing your child's hair in certain hairstyles could be abuse?

Now I don't agree with the hairstyle only because a child's hair should grow free. This hair style is entirely to tight and could do some serious damage to her hair but I don't see how this is abuse?

I'm going to do some looking online but I would like to know from you all as well.

This is not abuse, bad parenting maybe, abuse hell no. I am so sick of everything parents do to a kid this day an age being called abuse. Oh I made my son clean his room and go through his toys and it took him 4 days, someone better call CPS because I made him do it even though he didn't want too. 😳

I don't get it this is child abuse ( it's your child even if I don't agree with the style it's your child) but the girls in the beauty pageants that have tans and waxing ( which is painful) and 5 hours of hair and make up ( which I don't agree with either but don't consider child abuse ) isn't child abuse I feel like people like to throw that word around like it nothing just because they don't agree or if it's out of the norm

I think it's cause it's too tight on the child's scalp? I know when I braid my hair I sometimes get pimples and sores from the pain and I'm 19 so maybe they looking at it from that point of view because that looks terribly painful 🙈

Seriously parents have been doing their kids hair like this for centuries! Why now all of a sudden is it an issue!? I'm half black and had my hair braided like this once and yes it is a little tight and itchy from the beginning but then it loosened up and it was fine. There seem to be people lurking and ready to jump and yell 'child abuse' every opportunity they get. Pathetic.

Unfortunately I work for CPS and yes this is child abuse as for an adult to go through this it's not painful but a child to go through sitting there for hours on end because it takes about six hours to enter these things in your hair and it's very very painful and pulls the child's

I have to put up with it every summer because my youngest likes to have a colorful mohawk. Who knew allowing self expression with kool-aid could be abusive? Apparently everyone but me.

That depends on if the child WANTED to do it. If it's another mom treating her kid like a accessory, yes it's abuse. If the kids was up for it, then she's probably just trying to make the kid happy.
