I think everyone loves their life differently. I know super young moms who do amazing and older ones who are horrible and then I know young moms who are lousy and older ones who are great. I think it depends on the person. I definitely wouldnt want my daughter or step daughter to have a child super young. I feel it depends on the person and situation.

I had my first baby when I was 19 with the only man I’ve ever been with. I’m 26 now and we are expecting our 6th baby. It was the perfect time for US and I loved every minute of it and would do it all over again. But I wouldn’t tell someone else when it’s right to have a baby. That’s up to them.

I’m pregnant and 18 and I don’t find it inappropriate that I’m having a child especially since I’ve ONLY been with his father and have been together 2 years. Age means nothing, maturity is what matters

I couldn’t recommend to anyone to have a baby at any age ending in “teen.” I was considered extremely mature for my age and even knew in my teens that I wanted to be a mother (I was even dating my now husband), but I’m so glad I waited.
I’ve changed so much since then. I’ve been able to experience things I wouldn’t have otherwise - like traveling and earning advanced degrees. I longed for a child all the while, but my patience set me up for success as a mother - both mentally and financially. There’s still so much to learn about yourself when you’re a teen, and you owe it to yourself and future children to find out before you take on the responsibility of motherhood.

i think you can be young and be a mother. I do not agree that any of these ages are "appropriate" to start having kids though.

Well, at the very least, I'd say 18 and out of high school. Preferably a bit older though. I know several women who had children starting around 18/19 years old, and they are fantastic mothers. I also know some who had kids that young, and I feel so sad for their children because they are awful mothers. It really depends on the woman, her responsibility level, her stability, her SO, etc. I had my son at 21, and it was a perfect time for my husband and I. We are pregnant with our second, and I'll have her at 23. We are extremely grateful to have our children in our early twenties, as we will still be "young" when they go off to college or when they have their own kids.

i don’t think there is a right age. if you can handle it emotional, physically and financially then have a baby. i do think as a teen, it’s not possible to be ready to have a baby or in the right spot. i’m 21 having my first baby in may and i’m still not sure i’m ready.
