Throwing my own baby shower?

Is it tacky to throw my own baby shower? I don’t really have anyone to do it and it’s me very first girl so I really want to have one. Is it ok to throw it myself?

Traditionally someone else would throw you a baby shower. However, these days many woman plan their own showers. 
Personally I hope that someone throws one for me just so I don’t have to deal with the stress of planning. We shall see what happens when the time comes.

I didn’t even know that other people usually throw them for you til I saw a post like this on here when I was pregnant. I guess it’s different here in Australia because of the many baby showers I’ve been to not a single one has been thrown by someone other than the expecting mum. She might have help setting the shower up from her mum or mother in law, but yeah, it’s very normal to throw your own shower here (:

I’m going to do it. I want my baby shower a certain way and I don’t trust and don’t have anyone to do it. My friends really aren’t the ill push everything aside and plan a baby shower type of people. I’m just going to have someone help me but that’s about it
